Final: Red Sox 8,Twins 5 - Duran and Story both hit home runs in win against Twins
The Red Sox tie their series against the Minnesota Twins winning tonight's game 8-5.
Boston faced off against Minnesota's starter Pierson Ohl and their lineup capitalized against a rookie making his first start in the MLB.
The Red Sox started out cold as Ohl struck out the side to start his career, but Boston settled in by the third inning scoring four runs off the rookie. Roman Anthony started the scoring off with an RBI single that drove home Ceddanne Rafaela from third, and Alex Bregman drove home Anthony with an RBI double.

Lucas Giolito got the start for Boston today, and he took advantage of the early run support that was given. In six innings on the mound, Giolito allowed one earned run and struck out five batters. This was another solid outing from the tall righty.
After Rafaela's sac fly RBI in the sixth inning, the Red Sox faced some turbulence in the later innings of the game. Brooks Lee hit a two-run home run against Justin Wilson in the seventh inning which Boston's lead in half.
However, Boston brought their lead back to five runs in the eighth inning with back-to-back RBI's from Story and Wilyer Abreu.

Before Boston added their two runs, Aroldis Chapman was expected to get the final three outs of the game, but Alex Cora instead turned to Jorge Alcala trusting him with the five run cushion. Facing off against his former squad, Alcala allowed another two-run home run to Lee struggling to get the final out of the game.
Chapman had to finish the game with two outs, and he sealed the win for Boston facing only one batter.
A huge reason for the win tonight was due to a trade made by the Twins. Chris Paddack was supposed to start against Boston tonight, but Minnesota traded him to the Detroit Tigers which resulted in the promotion of Ohl for this game.
The Red Sox did what they needed to do against a rookie starter and hit well at the plate tonight. The revamped top of the order produced offense throughout this game and became the driving factor to this victory.
The Red Sox will wrap up their series tomorrow at 1:10 p.m. with Brayan Bello on the mound.
