The Boston Bruins lose their second consecutive game in overtime with a loss against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Boston started the game with an early power play attempt that lead to their first goal. Alexandre Carrier received a double-minor high sticking penalty on Tanner Jeannot, and Pavel Zacha put the Bruins on the board backhanding a shot past Jakub Dobes.

Following the first goal, Boston's play drastically dwindled leading to Montreal tying the game. Midway through the period, Montreal's first line transitioned into Boston's own zone, and it lead to a wide open Nick Suzuki backhanding a shot past Jeremy Swayman.

After killing a penalty to start the second period, Boston's second line continued their hot scoring with another goal by Zacha. The Bruins transitioned into Montreal's zone, and passes from Casey Mittelstadt and Viktor Arvidsson lead to a tip from Zacha for his second goal of the game.

The Canadiens pressured the Bruins for the remainder of the second by winning puck battles and spending more time in their offensive zone. With six minutes left, Montreal cycled the puck, and a shot by Lane Hutson lead to a tip from Josh Anderson tying the game once again.

The Bruins played a strong defensive third period, and neither team scored in the final 20 minutes bringing the game into overtime.

Unlike their game yesterday in New Jersey, the Bruins spent more time with control of the puck. They had some offensive chances, but Dobes and Montreal kept Boston scoreless.

In the last minute of overtime with Montreal in possession, Suzuki found Cole Caufield next to the net for the game-winning goal, preventing the Bruins from picking up the extra point.

Boston's inconsistency on offense was again apparent in this game. After their initial power play goal, they went 0/3 on the man advantage while barely recording any shots on net. Swayman played another quality game in net to keep the Bruins competitive, but Montreal played the better game offensively.

The Bruins will finally return home to take on the Jets at TD Garden. Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.
