The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft produced plenty of surprises, but New England stayed par for the course with their selection of Will Campbell from LSU. With Campbell expected to assume the starting left tackle role for the Patriots, quarterback Drake Maye will benefit immensely from the upgrade in protection. On Day 2 of the draft, the organization should look to continue to build in the trenches. Adding firepower to the offense will also be a priority, but after whiffing on wideouts early last year, it may be wise to wait until Day 3 in the below scenario. In addition, there are sure to be running backs who slide to the final day. Instead, adding more building blocks to what could amount to a top-ranked defense is how one strategy could play out. Here is a wild guess on what is sure to be another wacky day of draft mayhem!
ROUND 2
33. Cleveland Browns: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado - There is little financial risk in selecting Sanders at this stage. It would be wise for Cleveland to explore a quarterback option.
34. Houston Texans (via NYG): Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota - Being patient could pay off for Houston, which traded back but still has a huge hole at offensive tackle. Ersery is an excellent need/value selection.
35. Tennessee Titans: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri - More ammunition for Cam Ward is needed, and Burden can stretch the field as a bona fide playmaker.
36. Cleveland Browns (via JAX): TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State - It's time for Cleveland to rebuild the backfield and Henderson can alleviate some of the pressure off the TBA quarterback.
37. Las Vegas Raiders: Anthony Belton, OT, North Carolina State - One of the more underrated players in the draft, Belton can help stabilize the offensive line.
38. New England Patriots: Donovan Ezeiruaku, ER, Boston College - The local product has one of the fastest first steps in the draft, along with the arm length, bend and hands to be a successful pro.
39. Chicago Bears (via CAR): Will Johnson, CB, Michigan - On film, Johnson is a potential top 10 talent but a degenerative knee condition has called his long-term durability into question.
40. New Orleans Saints: Oluwafemi Oladejo, ER, UCLA - A developmental prospect with huge upside, Oladejo could wind up being one of the premier players from this draft class.
41. Chicago Bears: Mike Green, ER, Marshall - With Bears GM Ryan Poles showing that he is not afraid to make bold moves, the selection of Green would bring an added dimension on defense.
42. New York Jets: Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State - The Jets need some targets for Justin Fields to go to work with and Higgins brings size, speed, plus vertical ability.
43. San Francisco 49ers: Trey Amos, CB, Mississippi - A lengthy, physical corner who can fit into a man, or zone scheme, Amos is an exceptional value on Day 2 or the draft.
44. Dallas Cowboys: Landon Jackson, ER, Arkansas - Blessed with great size, length and experience, Jackson would bring an impactful presence up front and hails from Jerry Jones' alma mater.
45. Indianapolis Colts: Ozzy Trapilo, OT, Boston College - The Colts need to set up their starting quarterback for success and keeping him upright is a top priority.
46. Los Angeles Rams (via ATL): Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame - Finding upgrades at cornerback should be a top priority for the Rams on Day 2 and Morrison would certainly add a boost.
47. Arizona Cardinals: Joshua Gray, OG, Oregon State - One of the most refined offensive line prospects in the entire draft, Gray should be a quality starter.
48. Miami Dolphins: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, ECU - Some viewed Revel Jr. as a potential first-round talent based on film but he does come with health concerns.
49. Cincinnati Bengals: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina - The Bengals could use some help on the backend, specifically at safety and Emmanwori is an athletic freak of nature.
50. Seattle Seahawks: Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State - A long corner with strong cover skills but lacks prototype speed, Thomas has the DNA of a 'Legion of Boom' type defender.
51. Denver Broncos: Drew Kendall, C, Boston College - It's time to solidify the center spot and plug Kendall in the middle to pair with Bo Nix for the next decade.
52. Seattle Seahawks (via PIT) Jordan Burch, ER, Oregon - Adding more beef to the defensive line, Burch is a chess piece who could be moved up and down the front.
53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Nohl Williams, CB, California - Some much-needed competition is needed at cornerback and Williams would certainly create depth.
54. Green Bay Packers: Jack Sawyer, ER, Ohio State - A blue-collar pass-rusher, Sawyer brings athletic shortcomings but owns a non-stop motor who would fit in well.
55. Los Angeles Chargers: Joshua Farmer, DT, Florida State - Look for the Chargers to continue to build in the trenches on Day 2, as Farmer adds the ability to penetrate from the interior.
56. Buffalo Bills (via MIN thru HOU): Tre Harris, WR, Mississippi - Providing Josh Allen with another bonafide target such as Harris would be dangerous fuel for the offense.
57. Carolina Panthers (via LAR): Mason Taylor, TE, LSU - Injecting Taylor alongside Tetiairoa McMillan would change the whole identity of the Panthers offense.
58. Houston Texans: Billy Bowman, S, Oklahoma - Pairing the ballhawk Bowman with CJ Gardner-Johnson and Jalen Pitre would create ultimate flexibility.
59. Baltimore Ravens: Nic Scourton, ER, Texas A&M - The Ravens love to collect big-bodied end who can get after the quarterback and Scourton would be a natural fit.
60. Detroit Lions: Jack Bech, WR, TCU - When you talk about grit, Bech checks that box off and then some. He can be utilized as a taller slot option.
61. Washington Commanders: Kevin Winston Jr., S, Penn State - A tremendous Day 2 value, Winston Jr. comes off major injury but owns the potential to be a very strong starter.
62. Buffalo Bills: Princely Umanmielen, ER, Mississippi - You can never have too many pass-rushers and Umanmielen possesses great bend with impressive production.
63. Kansas City Chiefs: JT Tuimoloau, ER, Ohio State - With a championship pedigree and a relentless motor, Tuimoloau would be a perfect complimentto George Karlaftis.
64. Philadelphia Eagles: Dylan Fairchild, OG, Georgia - One wonders if GM Howie Roseman will be able to prevent himself from drafting one of the Georgia guards here.

65. Giants: Cam Jackson, DT, Florida
66. Chiefs (Via TEN): Elijah Arroyo, TE, Miami
67. Browns: Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State
68. Raiders: Sai’vion Jones, DT, LSU
69. Patriots: Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA - A highly competitive, tough linebacker with great range and leadership, Schwesinger could emerge as the quarterback of the defense.
70. Jaguars: Cameron Skattebo, RB, Arizona State
71. Saints: Donte Thornton, WR, Tennessee
72. Bears: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
73. Jets: Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
74. Panthers: Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech
75. 49ers: Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo
76. Cowboys: Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State
77. Patriots(via ATL): Jacob Parrish, CB, Kansas State - A physical defender who is considered one of the better nickelbacks in the draft and is also willing to help out against the run.
78. Cardinals: Teddye Buchanan, LB, California
