McDonald: Back to my roots as a Bruins beat writer

Greg has assembled a staff of media explorers. The business has certainly changed since we’ve all started our respective careers and we want to become the new trailblazers. We have a purpose. We have a goal.

We want to create a sense of community. I will engage with our members in a strong two-way discussion when it comes to hockey. We will provide a unique experience for New England sports fans. This isn’t about the past. This is about shaping the future of the media business and bringing the best possible coverage to our readers. You are the center of everything we do. You have shown faith in us, and the least we can do is work our tails off for you.

We will prove, once again, why Boston and New England are the best sports markets in the country. No doubt there will be cynics, but we will crush this adventure and we contend it will be a success. Endurance and persistence will conquer. There will be no lack of fear. This won’t be ordinary. We will strive for extraordinary.

Personally, after three seasons as a national hockey writer, I’m back to my roots as a Bruins beat writer. You can plan on enjoying breaking news, analysis and feature stories on both the Bruins and P-Bruins.

It’s tough to compare the entire hockey community with any other sport. There’s nothing like hockey fans and I will feed off your passion and bring you the best possible Bruins coverage. I want to hear your feedback – good and bad – during the season. In fact, in true hockey fashion, let’s do it over a libation either in Boston, or when the Bruins are on the road.
