What to watch for: The Boston Celtics enjoyed a beautiful welcome home present on Friday night in the form of a blowout win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Now, they’ll welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to TD Garden for their fourth and final matchup of the season.

Tale of the tape: In these two sides’ first three games, they’ve been separated by four points. The Sixers earned a one-point win on opening night, but just over a week later, on Halloween, Boston earned its own one-point victory.

Philadelphia got a leg up on November 11, breaking the mold and beating the Celtics by two instead of one. A Kelly Oubre Jr. tip shot in the game’s final moments was enough to get the job done for the 76ers (alongside some impressive shot-making from Justin Edwards).

Last game: The Celtics are fresh off one of the best offensive showings in NBA history. They blew out the Nets on Friday, picking up a 148-111 win.

Standings check-in: Boston still sits 5.5 games back of the Detroit Pistons, who have a stranglehold over first place in the East. That said, the Celtics are also 1.5 games ahead of the second-place New York Knicks, and three games ahead of the third-place Cleveland Cavaliers.

Nets check-in: The 76ers are on a hot streak. Despite being just 5-5 in their last 10 games, they’ve won three in a row.

Joel Embiid will miss Sunday’s tilt against the Celtics, but Tyrese Maxey will be ready to roll. He’s been Philadelphia’s best player all season. In his last 10 games, he’s averaging 28.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 steals while shooting 43.1% from the field but just 30.0% from deep on 9.0 three-point attempts per game.

Rookie sensation VJ Edgecombe, who scored 34 against the Celtics in his NBA debut, has also been playing well lately. In his last 10, he’s averaging 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 46.5% from the floor and 35.1% deep on 5.7 three-point attempts per contest.

Quentin Grimes has been shooting the ball well from three-point range, shooting 39.5% on 4.8 attempts in his last eight games.

One fun play: This is the power of offensive rebounding.

Nikola Vucevic is the key to the play, but watch Jordan Walsh and Hugo Gonzalez. Without their pressure on the glass, Boston never would have secured this extra possession.

Vucevic’s fight led the way, but as always, the mindset of offensive rebounding is a collective effort.
